王汝涌老师指出Sagnac译为萨格奈克不妥，应该译为沙涅克

5月29日王老师来信指出：
1)  我们经常提 Sagnac，有一点我是最近看到的：他是居里夫妇和朗之万的朋友。見下：
Georges Sagnac (1869-1926) was a French<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/France> physicist who lent his name to the Sagnac effect<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sagnac_effect>, a phenomenon which is at the basis of interferometers<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interferometry> and laser gyroscopes developed since the 1970s<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seventies>.
Little is known about the life of Georges Sagnac, other than that he was one of the first people in France to study X-rays<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/X-rays>, following Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wilhelm_Conrad_R%C3%B6ntgen> while he was still a lab assistant at the Sorbonne<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/University_of_Paris>.
Marie Curie<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marie_Curie> says that the Curie couple had traded ideas with Sagnac around the time of the discovery of radioactivity.
He belonged to a group of friends and scientists that notably included Pierre<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pierre_Curie> and Marie Curie, Paul Langevin<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Langevin>, Jean Perrin<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jean_Perrin>, and the mathematician Émile Borel<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C3%89mile_Borel>.
In 1913, Georges Sagnac showed that if light is sent in two opposite circular directions on a revolving platform, the speed of the light beam turning in the same direction as the platform will be greater than the speed of the light beam that is turning opposite the direction of the table.
2)  有一点也想提一下，Sagnac 国内经常被译为萨格奈克。其实他是法国人，法文发音不是那样的。张操老师把他译成沙涅克是最接近的。

6月12日王老师来信再次指出：
上次我讲起 Sagnac 应音译成沙涅克，希望再给大家提提。用萨格纳克"和国际太不接轨了"。（例如在贵网站有一篇文章苏霍鲁科夫（俄罗斯）:现代物理学的基础问题中提的桑雅克试验，我想就是 Sagnac 实验。俄国人应很多懂法文。）
