Gday Miao I agree that the temperature change in a sound wave is small. However it is not zero, and it is the principal reason for the loss of high frequencies. In most cases you can, with justification, neglect this change. However, this small quantity is the quantity you use to claim that the second law fails. Here is your argument: dQ is small, so let's say it is zero. The second law says that dQ is not zero, therefore the second law is wrong. I disagree. The second law says that dQ is small. It is fine to "only do theory", but if you ignore the results of experiments then your theory does not apply to this universe. I think we should leave it there. |
