File Upload
This feature only works with Netscape 2.0 browsers or later versions. Select the browse... button to choose which file to upload and press the Submit button.
Suggestion: Remember to change your browser filter in * (default is *.html) and click on the filename field.
File extension: should be tar.gz, tar.Z, gz, Z, tgz, tcz.
Notice: The maximum file size allowed is 2000Kbytes. You can upload one or several TeX/LaTeX files in your archive. Do not include postcript figures in the TeX/LaTeX files.
Submission via e-mail
Please do not send plain LaTeX or TeX files by e-mail. When not compressed, your file can be damaged, cut off, or corrupted during transmission.
You can send your paper via e-mail by making an uuencoded compressed (gzipped) tarred archive that includes one or several LaTeX (TeX) file(s) plus the PS (EPS) files of the figures, if any. If you have used BibTeX, please include the .bbl file as well. Non-standard macro packages should also be included.
If you are a UNIX user, you can download uupac and use it to prepare your uuencoded compressed tarred files correctly before sending them via e-mail to JCAP. Otherwise prepare the archive with the usual UNIX commands.
When you have archived (tar), compressed (gz), and uuencoded (uu) your files, with or without uupac, producing a filename.uu, you have to add to it identification data.
First, you must choose from two to four keywords to characterize your work (please see the keywords page for the corresponding abbreviations).
Second, edit the uuencoded file and include at the beginning of your file the standard header as follows:
\\
KeyWords: kw1.kw2.kw3
Masterfile: Example.tex
Title: The Title of the Paper
Authors: The Names of the Authors
Abstract: The Text of the Abstract
\\
Instead of producing the uuencoded file and editing it you can do it automatically with the UNIX program J-Cooker. This produces the final file ready for submission via e-mail: besides making the tarred, compressed, and uuencoded file, this shell script will also include the standard header above prompting you for all necessary information - Keywords (remember to collect the correct codes from the keywords page), Title, Masterfile, Authors and Abstract - required for the e-mail submission procedure.
If you are not a UNIX user, please do not forget to archive, compress, and uuencode your files before sending it to JCAP, by using any suitable tools available to you on your machine (i.e. tar, gzip, uuencode).
