HiRes宇宙射线观测站宣称观测到了GZK截断现象，而AGASA宇宙射线观测站宣称没有观测到GZK截断现象，而是观测到10余例能量超过10 ^20 eV的事例。
而新落成的世界上最大的Auger宇宙射线观测站的观测结果又与他们的观测结果不一样。如果AGASA的观测结果是可信的，那么Auger应该能观测到30例，但是只观测到2例。 HiRes sees "GZK" suppression,AGASA does not.Auger sees a deficit,but is compatible with both.
